Seventeen years after he was first adopted, Julien's mothers, both artists from Montreal, decide to relocate to his native Iqaluit. Despite being Inuk, the urbane teenager is a fish out of water in his new surroundings...until the gregarious troublemaker Maggie Pootoogook takes him under her wing as her new badminton partner. Maggie is intent on winning the upcoming tournament as a way of finally being able to leave her small, isolated community. But while she is so desperately seeking a way out, she inadvertently gives Julien a way in.
Seeing Maggie Pootoogook is a gently comedic short exploring tensions between the north and south among youth in contemporary Iqaluit.
